Charles Vermeere-Merlen

Currently pursuing a Dual Degree in Political Science and Economics between Sciences Po Paris and the University of California, Berkeley, my interest in global health and policy was shaped by my academic journey and personal background, growing up in a family of doctors and gaining insights into health challenges like cancer. My studies at Sciences Po have equipped me with a deep understanding of international relations, global security, and development issues, while my time at UC Berkeley has provided a practical approach to global economic challenges, especially those affecting developing countries.

My interest in global health and development issues aligns closely with ICEC’s mission, as I have always aspired to contribute positively to the society I live in to change the world for the better, and working on health issues will help me reach to goal. I am eager to learn from ICEC’s accomplished team and to contribute my skills in research, policy analysis, and strategic planning. During my internship, I aim to explore the implementation of global health policies and the collaboration between NGOs like ICEC and governmental institutions to address pressing health issues worldwide, especially in the field of global cancer care. I look forward to this opportunity to make a meaningful impact and gain invaluable experience.
