Mira M. Shah, MD
Mira’s interests in global cancer care revolve around advocacy, outreach and helping to create collaborative self-sustaining models of advancing radiation therapy availability. Most of her work has been with Radiating Hope (RH)- an organization which strives to increase access to cancer care by providing radiation therapy equipment to the developing world. The first completed in March 2014 and the second planned in June 2016, Mira and a group of RH members are organizing the Greater Horn Oncology Symposium (GHOS); the goal of GHOS is to create a forum of exchange and collaboration between physicians from North America and the Greater Horn to increase access to cancer care. If you are interested in joining GHOS in conjunction with Bugando Medical Center in Mwanza, TZ, this coming June, please feel free to contact Mira.
